There are no seed pearls on the first pair of earrings, Pattye. Think of tamborin as the trompe l'oile of jewelry. Our craftsmen of old didn't have gems, so they shaped the gold to look like diamonds, rubies, and pearls.

Both appear to have good luster and nice variety of body and overtone colors. I am partial to the strand with smaller pearls because (1) there seem to be less blemishes (rings); (2) the elongation of the drop isn't highly pronounced, and (3) the pearls are well-matched (by shape, at least)...

My ripples are here! I bought them unstrung and worked on them as soon as they arrived. I added gold-tone spacers and yellow-gold freshwater pearls between the largest ripples. The funny thing is that IRL, the strand has a pale but strong gold color. But in photos, the pink and mauve overtones...
