i was thinking too that the holes, looking especailly at the ones over to the far right, look like they are bulging out which would make them faux.

You can tell be the 'eggy' shape.

That's a really cheap looking clasp and a poor knotting job. The clasp is about the only way you can claim Mikimoto origin and you still can't trust that because the clasp could be fake or the pearls swapped.

You will love being able to do it yourself! And once you've learned, you won't forget. It has sometimes been a couple of years between mine but it always comes back to me :-)

Some of the really long pearls makes it very clear. FW can be satiny too. It depends on the quality. It's not easy to find FW with sharp luster.

I'll give it a shot. The first image is so overly processed that I can barely look at it without squinting :-) Initial guess Tahitian but it's difficult to see much but a round shape and some dark colors. The second looks like the flat shape of FW. The third looks to me like poor quality...

If you paid $250 they could never be South Sea pearls, not at $600 either. It's easy to get fooled (more than me ended up on this site for that reason :-)) so it's always worth it to stop and leave. Then go back to the hotel and do even a little research such as checking out prices and colors...
