Definitly different from the picture they show but still not that bad, I know that you had your heart set on the one they photographed but if you shouldn't feel to bad about keeping the one you have if that is what you decide to do.

The quality of the two lots appear to be similar, maybe the 5 strand lot has a little more luster to them. I think that the price is strictly related to size, if I had to to make a choice I would go with the larger pearls.

Airdancer, we have very little problem with the pearls coming unglued. We use a very strong 2 part epoxy.

This is how we do it, 23 pearls drilled with 1mm hole and glued in place

Bodecia, Glad you like the strand. I bought around 20 of them on a buying trip in Hong Kong (sold out, more coming in this week), at the retail level I believe depending on quality you are looking at between $1000.00 to $2000.00 Pearlescence, I am pretty sure the two strands pictured do not...

It is the companys strand, I did buy it however :) 500.00 seems to be a very reasonable price especially if they truley are South Sea.

I am a male and I wear a Tahitian pearl on a leather cord and get many compliments on it. There is definitly a masculine quality to the right pearl on a piece of leather.

I think that a tin cup necklace is a great item, In our company they are by far the number one selling item, we can't keep them on the shelves! Either way a full strand of pearls or a tin cup you can't go wrong they are both great for everyday wear.

I believe most of the value in a tin cup necklace is in the gold unless you are making a tin cup with say nice Tahitian pearls. Most tin cup necklaces are made using cheaper freshwater pearls.
