    More Strands

Cricket ug, you’ve gotten really good! After the anxiety of going back through and knotting the first 4 pearls, I love the weight of the pearls in my hand and, you’re right, they do clink together so beautifully.

I need some help and advice, please look at this.

If it were me, instead of spending $2300 on a 70 year old strand of so-so pearls that may or may not be Mikimotos, I’d go spend that same amount on a new hanadama strand that had incredible luster.

where /how to keep all the earrings?

I use Stackers that I get at the Container Store. They come in different sizes and configurations will stack up inside a drawer, or you can get a top for them. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GrqzSqIQKjs

Question regarding the metals in findings

Blubyrd, I'm no expert, but you should avoid findings containing nickel. Sterling silver contains copper as the alloy. Argentium silver contains germanium which makes it less prone to tarnishing. Silver plating will eventually wear off with use exposing the base metal (which could be nickel)...

Beautiful! Look how sharp those pearls are, even compared to the crystal earrings and pailettes on the dress.

8.5-9mm Akoya necklace feels too heavy? does this get better with time?

I think it's a case of just getting accustomed to your necklace. I think most of us had smaller diameter pearls to begin with and have graduated to larger, heavier pearls theough the years. When I wear lightweight pearls now, I'm constantly touching them to be sure they're still there.

    365 Days of Pearls

i love your piggies, baby nurse. The first Christmas ex-husband and I were married, he surprised me with a Guinea Pig. She was so precious but so suspiciously fat. Yep, a couple of weeks later she had three piglets. Cutest babies ever. They just don't live nearly long enough.

She's a beautiful girl (as are the pearls) and the lighting is great, but I have to say that I'm not crazy about the pose because it gives her body very awkward proportions.

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

BWeaves, I wore my mother's pearls to her funeral 18 years ago, and they've been in the jewelry case ever since. I've been so sentimentally attached to them that I didn't want to make any changes, but what's the point of having an unwearable pearl necklace? I think she would approve of their...
