Beautiful!

I, too, am in a state of shock, horror and disbelief at the fire at Notre Dame. It’s a tragic loss not only to Paris and France, but to the world. I will be in Paris on Wednesday morning and can’t believe I won’t be greeted by the majestic cathedral. Deepest sympathy to the people of Paris.

I think you need to be careful about unknown sellers, but a number of us have bought Tahitians, South Sea, and akoya pearls from Wen and Kongs, and they’re located in China.

I’ll be interested to see how your ripples look in person. I bought a strand from Kongs that had similar strong metallic colors in their beauty shots but in real life, I have yet to find any light in which they look as good. It was really disappointing as they were on the high end of Kongs...

The gemological report (in English and French) just describes them as natural, untreated sea pearls.

I haven’t been happy with the blue akoya studs I have to wear with my baroque blue akoya necklace, so I ordered a pair of Sea of Cortez mabé earrings that arrived today. I am so thrilled with them and know they’re destined to be favorites.

CricketBug, on the last strand I knotted, I was so focused on getting the thread back through the first 4 pearls that when I looked back at them, I had forgotten to knot between them. I started over again and did the exact same thing! Sometimes I get so focused on not messing up one thing that...
