Hi Nurain, I'm not sure about all the pearl activity in Sabah, I am from your neighbouring state. Are there a lot of experimental farms around Sabah? Because from my understanding, Edward Kong's farm is the only commercial SSP farm in Malaysia. Has this changed? Your pearls are lovely!

Those are freshwater pearls. in the second photo one of the pearls shows banding that is specific to FW. They are lovely pearls! hope you wear them often :)

Haha yes. I always notice when anyone wears pearls, even in the movies! My husband does the same and while watching the latest James Bond movie, he leaned over and whispered, "Judi Dench is wearing pearls!"

If they are the 1960s they are likely to be natural colour akoyas then, and they do appear to have a creamy colour. Oh how beautiful! The pearls don't show much wear at all, do they? The pictures aren't really upclose, but they do look new. Such a good deal, I wish I had those akoyas!

oh definitely! fabulous jewellery makes dressing up so much easier. It also brings out the uber feminine side of a woman. The type of jewellery one wears definitely speaks of the personality of that person!

Thanks for that Pearl Dreams! I will keep that in mind. When I was at the GIA booth this Sept I did flip through Matlin's book and did think that it was pretty good. However I didn't get a chance to look at the Newman one, so thanks for that information.

The necklace does remind me of button freshwater pearls...but I'm not a natural pearl expert! Please post the results after you see a jeweller, I'd be very interested to know the outcome.
