the "online" exception aside, good article overall - I can verify that high-end pearls continue to do well regardless. Anything that raises pearl awareness is a good thing for the industry (even a marketing piece for a trade journal like MJ - read mostly by jewelers.)

The pictures look inconclusive to me... could be south sea. Like others have mentioned, a reputable source which does a lot of SS is key, as you're looking at 10K+. If you have more questions, please feel free to PM me... SS pearls are our specialty.

The pearls look great, Mike! I like the photograph concept with using jade statuettes to show off the pearls... we have a 150-year-old (or so I was told) carved wooden Kwan-Yin here at the store who never takes her pearls off!

PerfectPearls, IMO, also consider what other pieces you're likely to wear at the same time so things "go together" (white with white, yellow with yellow). Do that, and it will be a cleaner look which enhances you and draws attention for the right reasons. Eric Rautman @ Anandia Pearls...
