Hello, just wanting to pick your brain about the average thread size for Tahitian pearls. I don’t have the strand in hand just yet to measure any drill holes but I am going to go ahead and order the thread before I even get the pearls. What size do they typically take? 3?

The pink beads are meant to look like coral. You’d have to get an RI reading or put them under a microscope to be certain if they are imitations.

Update: only took one try but many hours!! I held my breath nearly the whole time lol Thank you @BWeaves your advice helped me sooooo much. ❤️❤️❤️ I have been putting this off for months. Lol necklace was 14” and now it is long enough for someone to wear.

Okay it is not my design I am only restringing an older strand. One of them I wanted to add length too so I found more pearls that match.

I only know how to start from the clasp but this does answer my question as far as waiting to string the end clasp and last pearls… this seems very difficult I do hope to succeed.. but I suppose I’ll be back at the trial and error stage of stringing 😅

I would be sceptical of these. Never seen the clasp before and the pearls don’t scream “Mikimoto” lol I have been seeing a lot of “Mikimoto” pearls on eBay that are not at all Mikimoto, and I think that if they are you won’t have to question it as the pearls are that beautiful ;) To clarify...

I’ve become familiar with stringing pearls as a single strand but I have a couple of double strands that I would like to redo. Is the concept still the same or would I need to try a new approach?

They just don’t pop the way akoyas do. I strung them and definitely notice a difference from akoyas which I am use to dealing with. I appreciate your time and input.
