Just drilled the pearl and made it officially my Rainbow Pearl Pet. :p This is probably my first ring with a dangling pearl. Cute and playful. Allows me to appreciate the beauty of the pearl from all directions. I like it.:jester:

And here is the 3rd one, a rainbow T with a fat lavender end (or top if you consider the shape as a very high button). I love rainbow-overtoned Tahitians and have collected several, but this is the only one that has a great portion of "the end of the rainbow". It's not cherry, not aubergine, not...

Hey everyone , are these white south sea pearls 🙂 , i inherited these from my grandmother 👵

What’s the size of the pearls? Do you know when she bought it? Did she wear it much? Just based on the pictures and the limited information, my wild guess is they are WSS.

Two days ago I received a new package of 3 lovely pearls. I slept on it for a night, opened it yesterday, and waited for today's sunshine to take pictures. 😋 So here is the pair first. I've been looking for a pair of both intense peacock color and high luster. I love the very intense & vibrant...

Thanks a lot, Douglas! The coloration is so special, and elegant... reminds me of a Fiji pearl bracelet on this forum (probably jeg's?) The size looks decent though. I can't imagine how many shells the farmers cultivated to get this gorgeous strand. Salute them for their patience and...

Thank you! Sterling silver. It does look expensive, doesn't it?😝 Must be the beautiful pearl doing its magic. 🥰 That Japanese vendor-friend is a dedicated pearl farmer and he exclusively deals with akoya pearls. So this is a natural color blue akoya. I was mesmerized by this brooch at the first...

@CortezPearls What a marvelous picture!!😃 Mystry finally solved. Thank you, Douglas! If I understand correctly, those big mabe pearls from P. penguin in Japan should also look pink (but fainter) under UV, right? I've never seen Pteria colymbus pearls, and P. penguin is only cultured for Mabe...

Ball bearing look question and white/silver or silver

Did you try Pearl Paradise? Sounds like they might have what you want. By the way, what is “ball bearing look”? Do you mean circles?

@CortezPearls Yea I suspect some white Tahitians might get sold as WSS, intentionally or unintentionally, so it's always important to buy from reputable vendors, isn't it? I only have a few white Tahitians. They all look kind of silver/platinum, instead of pure white. Kinda similar to...

Thanks for your compliments, @Pearl Dreams and @CortezPearls . I often have this paranoid feel that my cell phone camera discounts the luster and overtones of pearls, especially on the freshwater. Yes Douglas, they are good looking indeed, kinda like jelly beans with metallic luster. 😋 And they...

Today, I strung a mixed-color CFW necklace. I don’t often work with this type of pearl, but when I saw their gentle, soft, and bright luster, along with the very feminine colors, I couldn’t resist buying a strand. Forgive my photographing. temp strand: One difference between this necklace...

    Are these South Sea Pearls"

Is 13-16mm the length of the pearls? Width around 9-12mm? They look like big freshwater pearls.

    StarryPearl's thread

Hello, everyone. It's been years since I last posted my pearls. Life hasn't been easy. Good news is — pearls, now I have many. Today I want to start this thread with sharing a simple T pendant on leather necklace that I personally drilled and wrapped couple of days ago. I specifically designed...

    Tahitians or FW

Wow! These do look very real, and fairly pretty actually. Thanks for sharing. I somehow start to wish I can buy a strand of dyed CFW like this. :p Did the luster change much? It’s been nearly 20 years. As to the 3 pics, I tend to guess 1 and 2 are not Tahitian, and 3 is low quality Tahitian.

    Tahitian?

Looks like Tahitian to me. The first pic shows the border between nacre and nucleus.

    Keshi pearl valuation

They are gorgeous, and the shapes are amazing. I wonder how the color looks in a white background. I've seen GSS keshis made into rings, earrings, bracelets, tin-cup necklaces, even strand necklaces. Ha, basically every type of jewelry!

Golf club finally finished after 13 years

The shape of this pearl is so funny. I wonder what the mollusk was thinking when s/he was building it! :18: Thanks for sharing! Imaginative design!
