    John Tu at Tucson 2012

Judi, be sure to post some pictures of all your loot. I bought my Kasumiga-like Chinese FW pearl strand from him also. There is a pic of it finished in my PG photo album if you care to see the finished product.

    Please Don't Judge Me - I know I have a Pearl Problem

No worry Adeline, you have not missed any type of new info on hanadamas. Yokota Pearl is the vendor in Japan where I purchased my hanadama strand. (Way before I joined PG.)

    grey faceted Tahitian pearl ring

Pattye - When you see these white pearls in person, I don't think you can mistake them for anything but pearls. Although they would make interesting 'bead' components to beaded designs and I have toyed with the idea of taking them apart and interspacing them with some gemstone beads. All that...

    grey faceted Tahitian pearl ring

I found this link to faceted pearls. http://www.professionaljeweler.com/archives/articles/1998/may98/0598gg1.html And here is a couple of photos, as close as I could get, of my strand of faceted FW 8.5mm pearls. I got these about maybe 6 years ago at a Gem Faire. They really are pretty in...

My new Sea of Cortez Earrings

Caitlin you ain't spitting hay...the mabes are otherworldly. I have a couple of sterling mabe rings, posting pics here, and I have LUSTED after your avatar since first seeing it. Unfortunately, I was born with a Czech round face and do better with dangles. I would love to have your earrings...

    Please Don't Judge Me - I know I have a Pearl Problem

I thought it would be interesting to see the 'pre' pics of the strand. The first couple of photos was the 'choosing' process. The vendor sent me several different shots of the two strands I was interested in. I was leaning toward the 'white/silvery' and not the pink. I am pretty pale and...

    Please Don't Judge Me - I know I have a Pearl Problem

Thank you Alex, you truly are a pearl lover and a joy to "know". I will post some photos of the Yokotas here then. I have other photos of them I didn't put in the album - after I have my Sunday morning coffee in bed.......

    Please Don't Judge Me - I know I have a Pearl Problem

No, these are 7.5mm akoya. They are varying lengths. Still have the Yokota and would never change the flower pearl clasp, but I have it listed in my PG photo album, so didn't t list it here. Can you believe the quality of pearl that John Tu has? I'm pretty lucky to have access to him.

My new Sea of Cortez Earrings

You own some great SofC pearl earrings also. You KNOW how special they are. The color is something you just can't explain to someone. They have to see it for themselves. It is different in different light, in different rooms, at work, at home, outside..... It would be a true dream to have...

    Please Don't Judge Me - I know I have a Pearl Problem

Alex, Trixie would never in this lifetime sit still for such frivolity. Not that I haven't tried. But when I put the pearls on her, they disappear into her long fur and you just can't see them anyway. Mary M, I looked and looked for settings for this pearl. I did see some I liked on other...

My new Sea of Cortez Earrings

Here are a couple more I took when I first got them. And I included a couple of Douglas' photos of the pearls from when I picked them out. I love them more every time I wear them. Thanks for asking Alex. You can tell I have gone hog wild with photos now that I can, in my other thread too. I...

    Please Don't Judge Me - I know I have a Pearl Problem

Ahh haha Syd, you are gonna REALLY get me in trouble with DH if he sees these postings. Ok, you asked for it. The first pic is tin cup bracelet I made, second pic is souffle pearls 20", third is 2 FW bracelets I made, fourth is chunky baroques from John Tu, which I strung and are so shinny they...

    Please Don't Judge Me - I know I have a Pearl Problem

She is a sweetie. She sleeps beside my legs every night and when I watch TV or have been online too long, she will come over and tap me with her paw. If I ignore her or don't respond, she gently bites my ankle

Thanks Pattye. I think so too. I was very pleased. Now...here is another love in my life (aside from DH). Let me introduce sweet and silly... Trixie:

More? Just received the tahitian yesterday, it is 14.7mm and makes my SS earrings in the photo look small.

    John Tu at Tucson 2012

Katbran, It sure would be nice if he had a website, but I guess he never got into doing that. I'm fortunate that the Gemfaire exhibits only 20 miles from me, 4 times a year, but in between shows I sometimes need a fix and a website with John's pearls would do the trick.
