I've seen these cracks before and always assumed it happened quite some time earlier as they seemed well under the surface. I did have one drop that I didn't sell as the crack seemed closer to the surface and I was concerned that if dropped it would crack further.

Looks great ! I usually lay mine out on a board first then string them onto wire. That way I get a good feel for the finished look. Also easier to move things around if the colours and sizes are not balanced.

They look like regular very good quality Fireballs to me. It's possible that there is some sort of clear coat. But they don't look odd to me.
