I'm back from a great hong kong trip. Hope those of you who looked enjoyed my insta posts. Here's one pearl I found. It will be jewellery or some form of wearable stabbie self defence

New arrival SSP should I keep?

As a seller I really want my customers to dance the first time they see their pearls, and do the same dance the thousandth time. Even if a website has stock photos there should be no problem with staff looking through inventory to find what you want within the range. ( though admittedly this is...

How to fix loose end of knot myself?

It should go back. If this strand is newly strung then the sooner you return it the better. Start to muddle with it and the stringer can claim you have caused the problem. I always put a dab of glue on the end as it feeds through the third pearl. I found that sometimes pesky thread will 'walk'...

I've got a bit of a thing for tiny pearls at the moment so I will prowl the aisles. I'll certainly be going to Grace anyway even though their new office doesn't have the fabulous harbour view any more. Grace/ Edison was producing some really lustrous white round bead nuked 8mm pearls - the...

I'm off to Hong Kong next week, and am going to attempt some instagram live video (@PearlescencePearls). No specific timetable, just plan to go when I encounter someone or something of a pearl interest. If there is anything you want to see let me know and I will try.

Post-operative Care of Mussels in Freshwater Pearl Farming

Might you buy in ready grafted shells, at least to begin with? When starting something from scratch good planning is to master one stage at a time (so, for example, with a new airplane you put old and tried engines into a new airframe and the new design engines into an old tried and tested...

    How to age freshwater pearls

I suspect what you want are some pearls which have some 'pond slime', from your photo. Would have been easy to find a few years ago. Now not so much. Size?

    Keshi pearl valuation

There is certainly a market...during covid we were buying direct, either from farms, or some producers started selling online by web page or by online auction. The most important thing with selling online is your reputation. You must be honest and straightforward with your customers.

    Keshi pearl valuation

Pearls are always worth what someone else will pay for them. Some farms sell direct to makers or retailers or to end users. You'd have to spend some time setting up a website and sorting out taking money and shipping stuff. It depends how independent you want to be

    Zhuji or Hongqiao Pearl Market

Jeremy...remember when you spotted the usually good vendor who had three duff pearls at each end of nearly every strand..just where you hold the strand to roll it. I've never forgotten that lesson!

Influencer Marketing's Impact on Consumer Trust and Purchase Behavior in the UK Pearl Jewellery Industry

It seems an odd subject to pick for a dissertation. Too narrow. Unless she is planning to be a pearl influencer...?

Influencer Marketing's Impact on Consumer Trust and Purchase Behavior in the UK Pearl Jewellery Industry

Just to clarify, there are people contacting me all the time asking for free pearls because they are 'influencers'. Up to the stylist for the wife (or maybe now ex-wife of a very famous actor who wanted to wear them to some awards thing. But would not agree to a loan, or hire, with them paying...
