Please help identify these gray dumplings.

    Or maybe faux pearls?

Please help identify these gray dumplings.

I inherited these from an aunt and I have no idea what they are. They are heavy and feel cold. They feel gritty rubbed together so I figure they’re real pearls. They have some odd mottling and are maybe 11 mm. Baroque freshwater? They don’t have a very sharp luster, more satiny, I guess.

Is it really Kojima? What are these pearls?

Amoreperla: You know what? Google AI is the bomb. I uploaded photos of my brooch and it did an analysis and found things I never would/could have noticed. My cameo broach is Italian Edwardian, on carnelian, 10k gold (the AI actually found a hallmark based on fotos!!). The image is...

Is it really Kojima? What are these pearls?

My cameo brooch. I have no documentation. All I know is that my aunt purchased it in Montreal in the 70s from an estate sale. The tiniest pearls all around. It is a little battered but I like to think that adds to the antique charm.

Is it really Kojima? What are these pearls?

I looked at the brooch converters. Clever but do the brooches wiggle around on them? I’m a little concerned about the delicacy of my particular brooch (see above reference to loose pearl). Maybe I can stick some silicone beads on the brooch pin to prevent wiggling (of which I generally approve...

Hi, Pella! Thanks for that suggestion. I will take a look.

Is it really Kojima? What are these pearls?

I’m actually going to bring this brooch to the very good jeweler around the corner and ask them to add a flip-up loop or bail. According to AI that can be done easily though it will likely cost more than what I paid for the brooch, lol. Worth it!

Is it really Kojima? What are these pearls?

Wow. This place is like the virtual Pearl Smithsonian. Ask and you will get an answer. Thank you, Jeg, for the fotos. Your brooches are very beautiful (and I’ve noticed your fantastic pearl collection in other posts!!). I love the idea of using the brooch as a bracelet. They need a stiff...

Is it really Kojima? What are these pearls?

I purchased this brooch from EBay for $75. Seller listed it as Kojima but there’s no receipt or identifying marks. However, it was so pretty, I took a chance. Does anyone know what kind of pearls these might be? The brooch measures about 2 inches wide. Perhaps the seller is even a member...

    Paspaley from Legacy Saint Jewelry

A little more info . . . Legacy Saint has a limited amount of the Paspaley pearls. They got them years ago but Paspaley ended the contract. So they won’t be getting any more once they’ve depleted their stock. As BWeaves noted, they are certainly not as good as what you get directly from...

    Paspaley from Legacy Saint Jewelry

Now I am in the weeds . . . Legacy Saint has sent me numerous photos of a variety of their Paspaley pearls they can mount on jewelry. Photos against white, photos outdoors, photos on all sides. Pray for me.

    Paspaley from Legacy Saint Jewelry

I guess that means I have to save up for matching items! Reminds me of sticky toffee pudding - which I first had at Fiona’s in Chelsea so many years ago. Nothing has ever come close. Of course pudding isn’t quite as expensive as Paspaley pearls . . . but then there’s the transatlantic airfare...

    Paspaley from Legacy Saint Jewelry

Hi, all: I'm a newbie on this site so please forgive me if this topic has been discussed (though I did not find anything on topic). Has anyone purchased from the Paspaley Pearl Collection from Legacy Saint Jewelry? Legacy Saint makes up their own designs but the website says the pearls come...
