    abalone pearls? and others?

The colors did not come through on the first three "brown pearls" they are iridescent as is abalone. I'll try to get better images tomorrow. Yes there is mother of pearl, citrine, and smokey. The major stones are turquoise. I don't believe the "banded objects are dyed" again difficult to image...

    abalone pearls? and others?

Hope this is the right forum for this? Just having acquired this gemstone beaded necklace, I would like opinions on some rather pearly objects on the string. Everything passes the tooth test. First there are three objects I take to be abalone pearls. Then there are four spheres, can't see a...

Opinions on Pearl (is this real)

Nope no nothing there at all. Now where did you say this auctuion was? LOL Seriously within the limits of the image it sure looks like a melo melo, but I am not sure about the weight. I would think a melo melo of that size (guessing 23 mm x 23 mm) would wiegh quite a bit more.

    Melo melo?

Oh I did not take offense some of the best folks ever are "natives" just wanted to clarify that I don't have to sell - a privileged position and I give thanks for it. And thank you for the kari contact I was thinking of another lady in Nashville. I'll send her some images and see what she says...

    Melo melo?

And what would be retail on such an object be? I don't have to sell, we are "well off" as things be. No debt just monthly bills - just starring at retirement with an inadequate pension - I might rather leave an object of wonder as a legacy. My only thought is is this the time to sell? I...

I am in East TN and I honestly do not know what to do with this pearl. It is so beautiful I just want to hold it, but melos are hot right now and that might not always be so. From the web they seen to go for $500 to $2000 a carat. Of course there would be taxes and commissions and Dave may be...

    Abalone pearl?

OK Caltiin as promise here is where I show my naivet? - is this a abalone pearl or just a bit of polished shell? It is from my wife's collection and her grandmother gave it to her many a year ago. Other than this I just have a few loose pearls here and there. Of course who knows what might be...

    tag says tnpearls?

y their Why I'll take the compliment thank you. But no not really. Though I am a bit of a connoisseur of well almost anything of great beauty. Mostly I've collected art, gemstones, and jewelery for the last 10 years or so. If I came across a pearl that I thought was a bargan of course I...

    tag says tnpearls?

Thanks I always referred to these as rice pearls until I noticed the tag. Other than being very pretty I would suppose the gold is the most valuable part? On the other hand thanks to Pearl Dreams and Pattye I now have at least an idea of what a TN pearl should look like and that answers my next...

    tag says tnpearls?

Hello, Going through my stuff and found another strand of pearls. Fresh water would be my guess but I noticed the tag says tnpearls. Anyway I'd love to get opinions on what it is that I've got, and if they might be Tennessee Pearls? Sort of made my home here and it would be rather neat to have...
