I am new to the forum. I am looking for information on a string of pearls my husband purchased in the early 1950's in Japan. They are 18" long, graduated in size, all hand knotted in-between. The top lid of the box is stamped with S. Takashima Pearl Co. Kobe, Tokyo. There is a oyster with a pearl inside stamped under that, with the word SASEBO. In the lower right side of the lid there is a ribbon with PO#01-E-18953 stamped and the second line E-2000.404. Any info on the pearls and company would be appreciated.

The inside of the box has this stamp on it (in gold printing) and in the middle an open oyster with a pearl. Above that it says SASEBO. There is a ribbon in the bottom right corner of the lid with PO#01-E-18953 and below that E-2000.404. I am interested in anything you can tell me about the pearls and the company. pagoos
