    Pearl necklace

Thank you for your responce. I bought it online, with a lot of different necklaces which included several akoya, and two imitation pearl necklaces. It was sold as is, for repurpose, some of the necklaces are broken. I paid 35€ for the lot. Looking at other jewellery and pieces from the seller...

7 inch blue pearl necklace with matching earings from Ming's in Hawaii from the 1940-50s

Blue chalcedony beads, which can be nicely valuable, especially with a gold clasp.

Thank you PD. That was my first thought when I saw it, for sure. Of course, nothing without testing, but I had to ask for your opinions.

    Pearl necklace

Hello again! I purchased this necklace a few days ago, it is still on it's way from Germany. It is also a part of a lot of different pearl necklaces. Antique imitation pearls

Thank you for your very studious answer! They do not look different then before washing, you can see when i restringed them. They are in two sizes, one slightly larger than another... And you can see the clasp that was the reason I bought them, it is made from 935 silver which was used in...

Those are not diamonds in the clasp, there is just not enough facets. Those are, as BW said, rhinestones (earlier called paste), maybe real zircon, but not much more. Diamonds are cutted differently, with more facets and they would keep their briliance. That is really nice vintage clasp though...

    Antique imitation pearls

Hello to everyone! I just came in a possesion of two about 100 years old short pearl necklaces for which I knew they are imitations (one has very nice 935 antique silver clasp with a white topaz, and that was the reason I bought them). By cleaning them, I saw that the paint does not come off...

    Another identification 😀

Sure, ABreaker, I totally understand you. I also found everything on the Internet, especially when I was less experienced. Here particularly, I was drawn by the size and I wanted to discuss with all of you about them. I wasn't, however, so interested, so I passed and did not bought them...

    Another identification 😀

Hello to everyone! I just passed by this necklace online. It is said those are freshwater pearls. I actually think they are man-made, but really can't be sure. Now, that annoys me, and if they are freshwaters I consider to buy them. Would really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks ☺️ It is 27...
