    Cook Islands Pearling Developments

    Cook Islands Keshi Bracelet

Jeremy: I think the enhancer idea is a good one. A choker of the keishi would be great too. I believe I saw one here on the guide made for a male that looked pretty masculine but would look good on a woman as well. Cuff links? The brooch idea could work but might require custom designed...

What is most important to you when choosing pearls?

For any given size/shape I look for these qualities: 1. Luster - I like to pick pearls that 'pop'. 2. Orient - This shimmering color quality is what pearls are all about to my thinking. I also believe it is a good indicator of nacre thickness and quality. You never see this quality in...

What do you reach for most?

Barbie: My knowledge of my wife's jewelry comes from experience...I bought most of it for her! When we began dating (long time ago) she just had some gold earings and a couple of chains. It has expanded greatly since then. I have no idea why, but I can pretty much remember every piece that I...

What do you reach for most?

The pearls my wife wears most often, lately, are the exotic 8.5 - 9.5's baroques that I recently gave her...she absolutely loves them! Prior to them, she would where the 11-12mm black FW pearls with peacock coloring or the pink 7.5-8 mm strands the most. The rest of the time she wears the 7.5...

A promotion video shot at my place

I have to agree with everyone who said it was a really cool video. I'm no expert but I wouldn't think that the saltwater would harm the pearls since they were cultured in it. The silk would be another story. Maybe they were strung with something else? I read somewhere that women in Cuba used...

    One more exotic

Pernula: I think that your're being silly, but personal preferences can mean a lot. However, If you really want to get rid of one ( or more ), I'll be glad to take them off of your hands.;)

    Loot!

Jeremy: Beautiful colors indeed. They would make excellent pendants or drop earrings...maybe even bracelets ( with keshi's?)

    Storing pearls in a safe

Humidors as pearl storage? Humidors as pearl storage? I have seen desktop to cabinet sized humidors that are tempature and humidty controlled, and lockable. Is there any reason why one of these wouldn't work as long term storage for pearls? Outside of the ceder smell that is.
