KarinK, I use many little Akoya pearls, in white (tiny 4.3mm) dyed black (4.5mm) and silver-blue (5.5mm). Are you sure you want them this small?

This has happened to me many times when restringing pearls, I have tried many ways to get thread out and I agree with Wendy, drill it out. You don't actually dill the pearl, only thread, so its super easy. Good Luck

Excellent question cc811, I have spent so many hours trying to photograph pearls well. I have occationally photographed white pearls against a black background and made them look good, but it works so much better against white.
