I chose sterling silver, but the offer was 14KWG. It feels gritty, cold and heavy. But also believe it could have been a dyed fresh or salt water pearl. I bought a set, will post later
I wish I had more knowledge in identifying if authentic, but as to the shaved off area, that is seen in the pictures. Hopefully others can update on their findings.
Finalized M.Y. With small accents of natural Padparadscha and Zircon beads. They do not take away from the main attraction, simple and attractive. Until I come up with something else lol
The part that was hidden or not showing, I looked at all angles and thought I would see a discoloration or more color in that area, but it looked same as the rest of the pearl. Just that the pearl is mostly round, but a bit off in that area. She has some flame there too, but seen with eye...
Actually, come to find out that what I thought was the back part is actually the front. The ring was absolutely not what I hoped for. It sat about half inch from the finger. I took the shells out and left one, but nope, still looked bad. I feel it much safer on a pendant anyhow. Still...
Finished this setting.

Indeed, that Gastropod is huge with pearls forming for quite some time. Little yellow is exactly what I was looking for. I not only have fascination for the precious pearls produced, but the entire species of who produce them. All pearls and mollusks. Nature is a marvel. Thank you for all...
The fourth pic is the closest to the color of Melo Yellow. But in different lighting it shows different shades of yellow. Pretty cool pearl. Feels like the conch pearls, like I am touching porcelain.
Thank you. I just sent it to you in message.
