    PP Oct GSSP sale

I *just* set my GSS pair from last year... And another sale? Uh oh :)

Nacre depth requirement scrapped from January

I wonder if this could open up new sales avenues for farmers. If there's less buerocracy in the way of getting your product to market, would things be any easier for something like direct sales of the best of a harvest? Or are auction lots so much the norm that nothing is apt to change for sales?

Nacre depth requirement scrapped from January

Totally agree. Given the dull lifeless pearls that seem to find their way into mainstream stores, I'm not terribly optimisitic that market forces will raise the most beautiful pearls to the top. I'm sure there are beautiful pieces with slightly thin nacre, and dull pearls with thick nacre...

    What a wonderful adventure!

Where to go and stay after Ruckus?

Ft. Point and the Presidio are also good spots (but can be crowded). Chrissy Field is over that way and also a neat spot. If you like some light hiking, there is a trail (seach for Lands End Trail) that will take you up thr Pacific side of SF (Lands End) to the GG. Ft. Point is just under that...

Where to go and stay after Ruckus?

More ideas (for the Bay Area)! Purranha's talk of food reminded me that the Chronicle does a top 100 list each year that might be woth a look: http://www.sfchronicle.com/food/top-100-2015/ You might also want to setup an uber account if you don't already have one, Uber is huge out here (that...

Where to go and stay after Ruckus?

LACMA is another good stop in LA, museum wise, and is literally right next door to the La Brea Tar pits, which are also awesome, but in a different sort of way. Santa Barbara also is wine country, if you want to hit some SoCal wineries. The roads (at least in the US) probably don't get much...

Where to go and stay after Ruckus?

CA can be a deceptively large state, and LA to the Bay Area are a ways apart. Were you thinking of a road trip post Ruckus? A dive up the coast could be a fun adventure (There's an inland route too, which is faster, but not terribly scenic). Or were you more looking for things in the LA area

    Finding findings?

Still hunting, though somewhat casuelly. I'm also really liking these (the finding at least, not what's hanging off them, and mayby YG) http://m.ebay.com/itm/Cultured-Pearl-Diamond-Dangling-Leverback-Hoop-Post-Earrings-in-14k-White-Gold-/221141132592 I wonder what the chances are of someone...

Awesome - Congratulations JulieBeth! Can't wait to live vicariously through you, so no pressure ;)

    Finding findings?

pattye - I didn't even think to try and work out the diamond sizes on the Eternal. Good idea!

    Finding findings?

Katbran - I already have the drops (from the earlier GSS extravaganza), they're just undrilled and unset. They had two pairs of drops I couldn't decide between, so ordered both and have since returned one. I like your idea of trying them out via photos!

    Finding findings?

pattye - Well, there doesn't seem to be a ton in between simple and bling, so I guess I'm erring on the blingy side :) This would be for a pair of 11-12 GSS drops. I seem to waver back and forth on the Eternal vs Allure. Some days I like the graduation and less pave on the Allure. Other days I...
