By far the largest number of people lost in 'falling through the ice' accidents actually drown because the current sweeps them under the unbroken rest of the ice and they cannot get back to the open air. You and Briar are both lucky to be alive.
And then of course the next statistic has to do with hypothermia. I used to live in Northern California. Hypothermia victims were a mainstay at that little hospital. You could almost count on them on Saturday nights during the fall and winter.
I'm glad you both made it. Ain't dogs grand?
BTW that's one Big A.. pearl he's wearing in that picture. It's almost as gorgeous as the doggie.
