We just finished this GORGEOUS piece on Friday afternoon- thought I'd show it off to everyone here! It is a 17/18.5" 14K Snake Chain Lariat with 9.4mm and 10.4mm Tahitian Drop-Shaped Baroques. I particularly love the colors of the pearls; mixed with Yellow Gold, this piece fairly screams "Wear Me!!!"

Well, the pearls are actually alot more intense in person- the blue is on the bottom of the pearl- actually the pearls start out with Rose, graduate to an Intense Green and finish Blue-really quite exceptional

As for the chains, I had the clasps removed and had them soldered to the ring by a goldsmith; I also had him solder on mounting posts to the bottom of the chains (which we notched) for the pearls. I thought about adding mounting cups, but didn't want to interrupt the minimalist feel of the design.

Love that bit!

'Minimalist feel' is a good word... things can get even more minimalist then this, that's for sure, and pearls still manage glamour big time

Ashley,

A very nice design, simple, elegant but well spoken. I love the bottom pearl. It's not on your website yet. How long is the chain? Will it slide around much? Thanks for the pic.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I can't tell you how much I love doing custom work- the creativity of it all is just too much fun! Minimalist is the best word that I could come up with to describe it- I put it on earlier (I had to!!), and the whole thing just Shimmers!
Looks like I'll be in debt for a bit, as I simply must make one for me!

We're thinking about adding the piece as a regular item- right now you can find it on our site's web-blog; but I am slightly concerned about constantly culling a top-notch lot for truly 'Gemmy' pearls- I think we might do two entries- one for circled pearls, and one for smooth drop-shapes with a note to customers that there will be natural variation to each design, and to give me a call before placing the order so we can give them a selection to approve... All the same, I am quite excited about creating more of these!

Snake chains don't really slide around all that much, and the combined weight of the pearls pretty much keeps the whole lariat pretty snug and in place. Falls to 1/2 way down my chest- perfect for low necklines (and unbuttoned shirts).
