Hi Everyone! My husband will briefly be in Singapore soon. Are there any shops or specific pearls that would be worth looking into while he's there? Thank you!

Hi Pearl Dreams, I'm at the part after stringing the clasp and the first three pearls and I have cut off the original knotted end. Then I put the fourth pearl onto what is now just the two strings with the needle at the end. How do you make a knot after from her on our without a tool cinching...

    Please help me get started!

Argh! I got through the first three pearls, gimp and clasp successfully but messed up with the first standard knot! It didn't come in next to the pearl. I'm using Beaders Secret, how do I get the knot to hit the pearl on the fourth pearl and so on? Thanks!

    Received today. Quality?

Thanks 1stpearl. :-) I'm undecided about keeping them. I wish they were a little longer to double as a necklace. Considering making two double bracelets for my daughters (if I ever get going on learning to string). Until they are older, I could just wear both bracelets. ;-)

    Received today. Quality?

Having been bitten buy the pearl bug with my estate sale finds, I tried ebay. This is a 30.75" strand. Seller listed as 7mm, seems about right to me just using a ruler. Seller says she bought it in NYC in the 80s. The clasp is 14k. I've never seen a clasp like this before. The pearls are dirty...

    14k studs. 9-10mm

These are beautiful and on the large side and combined with the $20 she paid I get a kick out of wearing them! I'm actually going to give them back to her because now she's looking for a pair for herself... Do freshwater pearls come in cream? I'm guessing they come in just about every color...

Could someone explain to me how to tell if these are akoyas vs freshwater? I would like to find a pair of akoyas for my daughter and I'm not exactly sure what to look for. Thanks!

OK, I read more discussion about stringing and I'm going to go with Beaders Secret. What size gimp should I use? Fire Mountain Gems has quite a variety!

Thank you 1stpearl. I'm looking forward to wearing it one day! Pearl Dreams - For a beginner, working with a long/heavy necklace, would you recommend Power Pro or Beaders Secret? Also, which color thread works better with the color of my pearls? Thanks again!

Hi Everyone, Thanks again for giving me feedback on the pieces I've posted. This is a pair of studs my mom picked up for me a few years ago, flea market or yard sale.
