There was actually a lot of worry among online retailers(all industries) that this holiday season was going to be slow. All indications now show that it should be a good one.

Well I would say this last weekend really kicked off the holiday rush for us, sales are up 300-400% over the previous week and increasing.

To all the merchants on the board, how are things shaping up?

To all the others, who is planning on putting pearls on their shopping lists?

Personally for me, it seems that man or woman if you're on my shopping list you ARE getting pearls - but I guess that shouldn't be too surprising.

I'm receiving pearls for Christmas this year and placed the order myself with PearlParadise: 18" Freshadamas, 7-8 mm, white with silver-rose overtones, with yellow gold Dolce clasp. Also the matching dangle earrings, 8-9mm size. Come to think of it, really this is Christmas and birthday for me!

They arrived Friday-- they're very well matched! I've worn them a few times but now I'm going to put them away until Christmas-- there has to be something under the tree, after all!

We were thinking of ordering a strand for our nearly-12 year old daughter, but she isn't interested yet-- she'd rather have iTunes cards so she can buy more songs for her iPod. Give her a year or two and I think the story will change.

Kevin, you have a skewed audience for that question here! Like probably everybody else here, I am giving a lot of pearl gifts this year. I have been buying throughout the year when things catch my eye (and finding this site has definitely helped that). So, my 3 sisters should be very happy campers

Well, Kevin, it'll be hard! I might sneak them out once or twice (he-he-he).

Pearls are definitely on my list. Tahitian Pearls to be exact. A pendant and earrings to start, possibly a matching full strand down the road. Yay!!

No plans for serious jewelry, but should take care of that pearl gap in my stash of earrings. I need some!

I don't believe I'll be getting any pearls for Christmas this year. But, like may say, you never know! I might just cave and get something lol.
