    How to darken my pearls?

Merrily, I don’t know what the shirt looked like to begin with, but I like the end result! When I used the Rit dye to dye white plastic pearls to black, I left them in the dye for 24 hours. I used some sort of small plastic container to soak them in.

A SS pendant from PP worn on an Akoya keshi necklace from Kojima. The other necklace is a large (10.5+) baroque Akoya from Takahashi, the SS keshi studs are from PP/Takahashi live, and the jackets were made with loose Akoya from Takahashi.

Is it really Kojima? What are these pearls?

They are freshwater pearls. I have two brooches purchased from Kojima. I can’t remember off the top of my head, but maybe somewhere around 2013. They were handmade by a woman in Hong Kong. I mostly wear the large one as a pendant, and the smaller one on a wristband. Here are some old photos that...

Your SS’s are beautiful, Syrie! I’ve always wanted something set in that blossom setting, too. Thanks for taking the pics of your work, BWeaves! I especially love the leafy designs. My grandmother used to make all our kimonos, but all the obi ties were purchased. I do not miss being dressed in...

Thanks, BWeaves! I hadn’t seen Kasumi keshi in these petal shapes before either. I purchased the necklace several years ago during a Kojima studio visit. A golden SS ombre rope from a PP holiday special, with a special golden SS strand from the last PP Ruckus. Worn with earrings I wrapped with...

WOW! So much fun to catch up on everyone’s pearly posts!🤗 Love all the great looks! BWeaves, I’ve seen some of your gorgeous shawls, but how do you use your rope and strap-like projects? Wearing a Japan Kasumi keshi necklace from Kojima, with earrings I wrapped with seashells from Sanibel Island.

Very pretty, Gingey! Hope your dinner was delicious! I always love seeing that All-Josh strand, BWeaves! And the shark’s tooth is super cool, too. Teddy bear towel buddies were waiting for us when we arrived. They made quick friends with the Bunny pals.

A little late to the SOC mabe layouts… Pulling up some old pics as I haven’t worn this pendant for a while. A pendant from Kojima that I purchased at a PP Ruckus, and the earrings Sarah had set for me with mabe from one of the Tucson shows.

    How to darken my pearls?

Hahaha, I used Rit dye a long time ago to dye tiny plastic pearls. The plastic absorbed the dye quite well, so I would assume pearls would be even more receptive. You’d just need to experiment because I’m thinking you wouldn’t want your pearls too dark. Here are the plastic pearls I dyed black...
