Hi everyone. I was just at the MJSA gem/jewelry show yesterday. Wow was it wonderful. I bought the most beautiful tahitian keshi pearl and was wondering how I should take care of it. I do not want it to dry out so how and where should I store it? It can get pretty hot in my room where my pearls are kept. So, should I keep the pearl somewhere near a glass of water or something like that? I know that sounds dumb, but I keep hearing that everywhere for some reason.
Thanks,
-Stephanie

I leave my pearls in the shower with me once in a while and let the steam 'moisturize' them a bit. If you search around the forum, there have been some discussions about not putting them in the safe.

Hi Stephanie,

Airdancers advice is excellent. Let them get some humidity, donīt hang them after the have become misty so the silk doesnīt stretch, put them in silk bags and they will be fine.
