The piece that my friend and I were looking at was http://www.anandia.com/127mm-tahitia...ant-p-321.html and the price seemed to be very good for a 12.7mm AAA Tahitian.

I had a bad experience with Pearls by Angel Carol and wanted to check with experts here.

I remember someone asking about getting a necklace restrung. They finally found Anandia on their own and reported back they were happy with the restring job. That's all I know about them.

The price on the one you want looks ok for all those pave diamonds, but the pearl looks pretty boring for a really good Tahitian. Even though they describe the overtones, they couldn't get them on camera. Since others can get the overtones very well --look at some of the photos of Tahitians on this website that are much better photos--, it does not impress me when the words do not match the object. It is kind of a middling Tahitian, I guess. IMO.

Personally, for the money I would put it into the pearl, not the diamonds. You could get a really good Tahitian for the same money with no decorations. A really good Tahitian does not need extra bling to take your breath away. IMHO.

Wow!!! what a quick response Thank you so much Caitlin for your inputs. My friend and I just started to admire pearls and apparently we still know nothing .

We will check with vendors on this forum to see if they could create a similar piece.

Okay here we go.... The baroque is from Anne Simmone in Moorea. It has absolutely the most amazing lustre. This was my first purchase. It was only a few hundred. I have never seen anything like the lustre and tried to compare every other pearl I looked at to it. The earrings are from Ron's. I think they were about a thousand. He was awesome. He will send a car for you. The 13mm and the three other loose ones are from the Pearl Markets in Papette.

I am not sure, but I think you can PM or email member "Josh". The top picture is his. He actually cultures them in an environmentally sensitive way and is a member on this forum.

Also try Jeremy Shepherd of Pearl Paradise. I think he bought some of Josh's pearls but I have no idea what the deal is but tell him what you want.

Caitlin - Now I totally understand when you referred to the piece we looked at as 'boring'. They do look amazing!!

As I mentioned in the PM I sent to you, I feel so restless these days since I started looking into pearls. I sincerely hope I won't end up to be a pearl addict .

Golly, thanks Caitlin for posting those pics of mine. It's good to feel the love
Space needle, I'm sorry but I think you are already too far gone! To better understand Tahitian pearls please go to www.kamokapearls.com. I tried to make it as complete as possible in the info and the pictures. I don't service the public though but would recommend people who have purchased my pearls, namely Pearl Paradise. PM me if you want more info. Thanks!
