Hi Jeremy,

Nice tahitians! What's the size? Are they untreated? The luster and surface looks fab!

Hi Casey,

In all pearls, whether fws, south seas, tahitians.. there is a premium for roundness. Although a 12x13 would appear round to the naked eye when worn around the neck.

Yes, completely untreated. They are 10mm (ish). Natalie did a good job capturing the true effect. I drilled a strand composed of the midrange peacock colored pearls. It was amazing. I love those colors...

Where do you find them retail? You would never find them in a strand purchased by hank. They are often selected out of large lots and sold on a scale completely separate from French Polynesian A-D, or Asian A-AAA. Because we select them out of our own lots, our cost does not really increase on them. But we can only make a couple strand each time at the most. Most of them are just set aside for customers who want something special, or for people we are really trying to impress. We do not usually charge a premium.
I know this post will get a run on them, but sorry. That strand drilled this week used more or less all of the matchables.

It was just over 18 inches and went for about $4600 to a customer in France.

Wow, great price for such fabulous pearls. I couldn't believe that photo. What a great shot. Though I have to say, perhaps due to the influence of certain posters, I have taken with the baroque shapes, especially the drop shaped necklaces on your website.
