When I was in England I visited a pet shop and there I saw a Pinctada Maxima clam, and I thought it was really cool. It have been a few days now since I saw it and I think itīd be kinda cool to have one as a pet.

So now Iīm wondering if thereīs anyone here that know if they need any certain water conditions?

The one I saw was tiny, only about 7-9 cm long. How big do they get? And how old?

I canīt stop thinking of the cute little thing. I wont get any pearls from it but itīs so adorable in itself...

Interesting, never thought of having a clam as a pet. I'll never look at my fishtank again without the thought of throwing one in even though my oversized piggish goldfish would probably eat it shell and all..

Goldfish? Isnīt that a freshwater fish? Lucky for the clam if so, hehe.

I think itīs completely normal to wanting to have a clam as a pet if youīre a pearl lover, even if you canīt get pearls of them. Just because theyīre such amazing creatures! I honestly think theyīre cute.

They don't do tricks...except "Stay" You can throw a stick all day and they won't fetch. Nah. Not a very good pet.

If this thing works George I'm sure PT will be supplying Collars and Leashes to the Clam pet business.

Hmmm......if I'm that far ahead, how come I still have to work instead of laying on a beach somewhere with a never-ending margarita in one hand?

Well someday you'll be remembered in the annuls of Australian pearling. That and about $5 will get you a coffee at Starbucks. But I'll bet we can scrape together enough money for a couple of Margaritas. lol. Small ones.
