Thanks for all the kind comments. The pendant came and I was pleasantly surprised that the pearls were not uniformly white or cream as I had thought, but a bit darker and with some blue.

I liked the idea of a pearl strand enhancer (thanks Valeria), and especially since I don't have a high karat gold strand. The white seed pearl strand was the first I tried, but the white strand emphasized the color difference.

Then I tried the black strand and that was better, although the color is a bit washed out in this photo.

I had been longing for a pendant to match my Sea of Cortez earrings. Could these tiny color-shifters be what I'd been searching for?

Yay!!!

Happy New Year from a very happy pearl-lover!

Wow - they do look great together! I have both Cortez pearl earrings and a pendant, but they are markedly different colors (they weren't sold as a set) so I would also like to find something I can wear mine with.

Ingykiz, I am sure you will be pleased with a purchase from DruzyDesign. I told my husband to get me my Christmas present from her site, because I knew that I would be happy with pretty much anything she offered. Of course, the silly man opted for emeralds instead of pearls but they are still quite lovely and sparkly and I adore them.

Wow, Gorgeous, Blaire.
I was watching that pendant for ages - wish I'd jumped on it now.
It's even nicer than I thought....
Boo,
You'll just have to keep buying pendants until you have one to match your earings.
And then you will have to keep buying earrings until you have matches for all the pendants....
(Sigh) it's SO hard being a pearl addict.

It's beautiful! I love her stuff too. I know how hard it is not to spend with all these lovely pearl items around. I guess I'm pretty good at limiting myself. I allow myself to have mini jewelry spending sprees a few times a year but that it. plus I always have a bit put aside should a limited special come up that I really MUST have.

My god it looks great next to those earrings!

GemGeek, the pendant and Sea of Cortez earrings look perfect together. A match made in heaven. Like Ingykiz, I am very tempted to purchase something from DruzyDesign. Maybe I'll just take a look....

Boo, I was in the same boat, trying to match pendant to earrings and by dumb luck, the little pendant came through.

Sueki, that was the first time I noticed the pendant. It's funny that I didn't see it sooner.

Personally, I think every female pearl lover should have a pair of Sea of Cortez earrings. I know I'm a bad influence, but they are my favorites. Their rarity makes them collector's pearls and once you see them in person, you will know what I mean.

Thanks for sharing in my "pearl hunt"!

After you check out all the listings, check in once a day to see what's been listed that day until you find the perfect piece. Check the measurements and photos carefully to be sure of the size and color of what you'll be getting. I love that she takes a lot of close-up photos against several colors of background.

Those pesky Sea of Cortez pearls come in many colors and they also shift color, making it hard to show how beautiful they really are. Mine are very light blue with shifting pink and teal orient, but it's hard to show in a photo. In other words, if you like the photos, they'll probably be better in person.

Oh, this is really lovely! Both the pearls and the goldwork are amazing.

After seeing references to her work on this forum, I've been perusing her eBay site; I crave some of the sea of cortez earrings.

What kind of necklace will you wear this on? The pearls that you showed, or a chain? Does a "regular" 14 kt chain look okay with this?

I agree wholeheartedly with Gemgeek.
The Cortez pearls are something else, and guaranteed to take your breath away. They are truly beautiful, and you won't be disappointed.
When I have time - and some decent light - I'll post pics. of mine.
A happy and healthy new year to everyone.

It looks funny with ordinary gold and other colors of gold. It looks fine on my stainless steel cocoon cord, but the fat cord emphasizes how small the pendant is. I'll make the black pearls into a necklace for it now and I hope to find a dainty high-karat gold chain when I'm in Tucson.

How about the rather large bail? Does it fit the lacy design in person?

It still manages to look delicate, even with a large bail. I wouldn't change it.

The black looks best, you're right. It really is stunning. One of these days I'll have a Sea of Cortez pearl. And I want a shipwreck pearl. What about a gemstone chain? Labradorite? We can't stop you from spending. We need to live vicariously!
