Hi Blaire and all,

Well, some Fab choices in beads, and great prices too! Good thing John Tu is off on a buying trip or there would be nuthin left by the time the next Portland Gem Faire happens! It will be fun to see what all you make, Blaire, and of course, you know I am just kidding. Love those big funky pearls!!

Pattye
so many pearls, so little time

Lovely pearls, Gemgeek,
Can't wait to see another stick pearl necklace. The greens are gorgeous.

I have a website, but I'm not promoting it. I mostly sell jewelry directly to people I know or do shows & parties. Because of the flood at my house, it is very hard to do anything around here, so I haven't been making much jewelry. I have a boutique that is interested in purchasing from me, so I'll probably work up a summer line for them in the spring.

My main goal is to finish my Graduate Gemologist coursework and get a diploma.

Thanks everyone, for the nice comments!

La Pandita, you should wait until I can put some nice new stuff on the website. You know how shy I am!

Are fwp's often bead nucleated then? Is there a rule of thumb?

Thanks! Bead-nucleated freshwater pearls are a tiny percentage of freshwater pearls produced. They are getting better, but are still fairly easy to spot, even when they don't have tails.

Hallo GemGeek,
I am looking for those kind of misshapen and odd pearls. I posted the question in an other part of this forum (FWP)
Can you help me to find where I can buy those pearls?
I live in Belgium.
Thanks

I think these are tissue-nucleated, but you can never be 100% sure…

Attachment 2283

They look like they're melting and dripping!

More natural color shimmer...

And here is a close-up photo of some lovely baroques.

These are sooooo beautiful!

I missed your post, Simali. One of our own forum members sells some of what you are looking for - http://www.catherinecardellinipearls.com

Her online name is Cathybear.

Cheers,
Blaire

Hi Kay. I designed the combination and made it, but the embossed pieces came that way with no help from moi.

Just a note -- John said he saw that someone said something about the San Francisco show and he wanted those who were interested to know that he now only does three Gem Faires in California: San Mateo, Costa Mesa & San Diego. I think he still does Portland.

John gave me a good deal on a mass of commercial-grade circled Tahitians, so I'll be thinking about what I can do with them besides making myself an obscenely long rope.

Cheers,
Blaire
