Perlas,
Sounds like you LIVE in a swamp box. We Seattlites would wilt, for sure.

Considering conditions in pearl origins such as equatorial Polynesia, SE Asia, etc. I don't think there is need for worry. It would be terrible to think of the odd jar of poe pipi representing the life's savings of some Tongarevan (Cook Is) going to waste!

Hi All,

I was just thinking that if any of my pearls need humidifying, I might try hanging them a few strands at a time behind the bathroom door in one of those mesh laundry bags for a few days. That way they could get the full effect, but not have any tension on the string. Hey, burglers probably wouldn't think to look behind the bathroom door!!

so many pearls, so little time

Sueki,

I agree with You wholehartedly, otherwise I think Patty´s it was a good idea to keep the strands in a bag, so no stretching occurs because of the humidity!

Sam, I too think that You actually live in a Swamp box compared to Steve in Seattle and me in Sweden!

Perlas,

Thanks for allowing us a view into your paradise! Seattlites actually dream of wilting in the heat. I've been warned by locals not to even think about an expedition to pearl harvest in the torrid, serviceless northern Cooks—but guess where we're headed at the next opportunity?!

Sam,
this first picture is very lovely, it reminds me of my childhood summers with my grandparents!

Hi Sam

You ARE as "cute as a button"! (future readers: I am referencing another thread) You look like a pixie visiting the woods and visiting sea friends, I just could'nt quite see your gossamer wings even though I squinted. I am sure they are there though.
