Hello everyone,

I want to ask for help.I'm not good in English. I use Google translation help.

14-15 years ago, a male Burmese traveled from Burma, to visit my father at our home. He brought "Natural Pearl" to trade with. My father saw it much less interesting. But my mother loves it. My mother decided to buy them. And Burmese sold them to my mother, the price is not expensive.

At that time, my family did not know the true value of them.Because we had no knowledge at first, many of them I have sold to others at the price not too expensive.

4-5 years ago, my family just knows the true value of them. My mother and I decided to break it, just one. It is not pretty as other pieces. We saw the layers of nacre, its similar onion cleaves. So we are sure it is genuine, Natural Pearl.

Now we want to sell them, a total of ten pieces. I scale the size of them. They are larger than 5 mm, size range 6 to 9 mm.They are the Natural Pearl from Burma. Look at it. You can see the shiny, overtones of the various colors of the rainbow. But I did not picture it yet.

I have a special piece, it is a Big Ring, I compared it with the size of one cent coin of the America. The Natural Pearl isvery large. I recently bought it, and it is the Myanmar’s Pearl, too. It likes my old pearl, but much larger. And I have a picture of it; you can see it very well. But it had the two cores; you can see it from the bottom of pearl. This Natural Pearl, it's similar like a hand wearing a winter glove. I named it that, The Snow Glove.

I hope you will be interested. And if you can guess the price of it. Please let me know.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Dara

Hello,

During my many visits to Cambodia and Thailand, I found several of these pearls, which are very nice.

How to proceed depends on where the pearls are located. If they are in America, tell me. If they are in Burma, it will be difficult.

However, for anyone to establish a value for them, or to pay you, your pearls must first be certified by Gemological Institute of America, located in New York, Carlsbad, and Bangkok. They test pearls and issue a certificate that it is a natural saltwater pearl. Without certification, your pearls will not have a good price. Look up GIA on Google for the address and phone.

Shipping the pearl from Burma to Thailand would be a big problem at Customs, so you will probably have to carry them into Thailand yourself.

Once you have Certification, I will be interested in buying them. I am often in Thailand and Cambodia, and we can arrange to meet but only after you have a GIA certification. I would advise you not to break any more pearls. If the pearls are in USA now, I would like to see them.

Sincerely,
Tom Stern,MD

I'd like to know about the setting. It looks very familiar to me. What is it made of and what are the stones?

The mounting looks very poorly and cheaply made, IMO, other than the photo of the large pearl, the other pearls, 6-9mm, if correctly described, are fairly small.

It looks like something made by the same manufacturer that creates these pieces.

I must concur with the low grade appearrance of the setting. It looks like a "one size fits many" mounting, not made for the specific "pearl." As well, the faceted stones with it, though it is hard to tell for sure from such photos, (they could be dirty) just don't show the refraction one would expect from diamonds nor does their setting work look very professionally done.

(from my "rare white conch pearl" thread).

Kevin, what are you holding this time? is it another fish, one of those foam baseball hands, or a big raygun?
