| I just made it back from the HK show today. I would love to get more information on these. I have read a bit on the abalone, but not much else on the others...

I have written a little about Natural Abalone, Oyster, Conch and Scallop pearls on my web site. If you have any questions please post them or contact me directly. I will be sure to answer them in detail. Best wishes, Jeremy Last edited by Admin; 01-27-2006 at 06:30 AM.

I am very interested in information on conch pearls. I will be pleased if you can link me with, or provide me information on conch pearl buyers. You may send me information on European buyers or American or italian buyers. Thanks Stephen Okeke www.sculptgentech.com

So far, there doesn't appear to be any useful information on this thread. The link Jeremy (Jnorris) provided goes to a useless advertising page parked at GoDaddy. Jeremy, did you get the URL incorrect? Please let us know if you do have a site with any information on other types of pearls. Perhaps this would be a good site to develop.

Hi Terry, If you really are interested enough in learning all about them, I recommend learning German first. There is an excellent book out by Elisabeth Strack called Perlen. I heard it is being translated into English now. However, at 600+ pages, that project may take a while. And I am NOT doing it. Otherwise, you may find us exotics buffs quite mum on details. For one thing, you really have to learn the ropes, either by apprenticeship or by studying marine biology, networking and then trying to charm others out of their treasures. Money might help, too. If you have a lot of money, you can also buy from jewelers and traders that specialize in them. This way is not recommended for non-billionaires. Zeide

Did anybody besides me notice Reese Witherspoon's conch pearl earrings at the Academy Awards. My oh my, those were nice. I admit I am biased, but those were the most spectacular jewels at the entire event. Zeide
