Carved tahitian

Hi, dear Friends
Several of you asked me... And what about tahitian pearls ?... This is one.

Carving has given to the pearl new and interesting bronze effects, but It would be better if I had not forgotten to clean it, just after polishing! But It was in the end of afternoon and sun was falling down quickly.

Thank you, Katbran! As I have still said, it's very interesting to see how carving can open pearls to new colours, as this unusual bronze for a tahitian pearl, wich was graphite coloured, first.

Sure, Cathy, It's often better to mount pearls to obtain their right look, but I'm not jeweller...

Each kind of pearl looks better using a specific pattern. If I carve a white pearl (this one is smooth pale yellow coloured) as the tahitian, light will not play as it would have to do, and by reverse, matter of material is the best way to carve tahitian pearls (which have also the right thickness of nacre to allow that). Lavender and purple pearls must be worked, carefully, between the two, and, at last, baroque pieces ask a design according to their shapes, of course.
