Hi ellsbird Your story sounds similar to mine... I went to Tahiti and got sucked into the pearls - now I make jewellery with them and suck other people in! :)

I wear my own Tahitian pearl in a very similar style - just one pearl, on leather, with a shell and loop fastening. I never take it off. The pearl is very special, as I snorkelled the oyster strings, picked the string, then picked the oyster that it came from. I also still have the shell. :)

Thanks for taking a peek, Pattye! :) Knotting was the first thing I learned, after drilling. The ones up there at the moment, I did in Tahiti and had serious HELP with, but I have some freshwater and coral strands that I did recently, with a view to putting Tahitian pearl pendants on them...
