Thanks Jeremy! I really appreciate your inputs. And yes, when you're in the Philippines, when you say South Sea it refers to Mindanao, the Southern part of the Philippines. So when you ask where is South Seas everybody will say in chorus, "Mindanao"

Could these be south sea pearls?

Without a doubt I believe Jeremy and the experts here. I do accept that the pearl necklace my dad got from the Philippines was FWP as experts say here. Could these be south sea pearls?

So in conclusion, this strand is FWP because it has deep inclusions several mm in the nacre as mentioned by Jeremy and because it has an oblong/oval or egg shape. Did I get it right?

Could these be south sea pearls?

I appreciate all your replies! But to settle a matter, two or more witnesses are needed. 1 point for solid-nacred extra large FWP. 1 point for low quality SSP.

Pretty sure these are freshwater, but....

Hi Stellar Gem, It looks like what I got too. Mine was 13-15mm though smaller than yours but with blisters like in your picture. I'm hoping it would be a lesser quality SSP too hahahah. Thanks for posting!

Could these be south sea pearls?

Thanks for the reply jshepherd! Is there any particular character of South Sea pearls that could differentiate from freshwater pearls? Just like the luster of Akoya pearls are far higher than FWP? Are SSPs have luster like Akoyas?
