Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

That’s the truth, miss a week at the most and it’s like rain in the desert to come back. It’s a beautiful day here (although a tad warm, at 80*, more or less kidding), but the sun is shining, the humidity is low and my knees got a shot of cortisone, and so, pearls! pearlescence necklace, and...

    Pearl Bracelet Poll

Hi KeshiFan, that’s where I love pearls best, on my wrist. I like to twine a necklace around itself on my wrist... (or “forearm, Barbara, forearm”). I find they hold up ok. I haven’t seen a lot of scratching or other damage with the CFW, solid nacre. With the bead-seeded (akoya, WSS or GSS, or...

Pondslime or light shades of lavender

And, as it happens, I’m seriously underwhelmed by the beads and the pondslime. The pondslime lose their kick next to the crystal bead, and the the bead loses as well. The pondslime are a family set apart, rich together, subtle. pearl-sorters are genius! I wish I could thank them.

Pondslime or light shades of lavender

Last one, and I thank you for all of your patience and input! It’s amazing how the mood changes with the pearls. Karin, you’re right, Lighter pearls, lighter mood. Darker pearls, more smoke and mystery. Douglas, too true. So, I think these pics prove that they’re glass with an aurora...

Pondslime or light shades of lavender

Hi you guys! I’m up in the air again, was and wasn’t surprised that the PP lavenders look good with the beads. They’re darker than the lightest lavender pearls, but not as dark as the pondslime. It only makes my choice a bit harder. Pattye, I wish they were stones, but I’m fairly sure they’re...

Pondslime or light shades of lavender

Thanks, Wendy and B! Those are the pondslime. They do look rich, don’t they? They’re a complex pearl. There are pink, lavender, copper, olive and gold... I couldn’t tell you what the base note is because there’s olive and purple in each pearl. I need 60 pearls, have just enough pearls to do it...

Yeah, Tricia, I know! Buying the Blues, I felt like a game show contestant, slamming down on a big red button when I bought the blue akoya. Hehehe, that paper plate is the best! It has 2 little holes, custom punched for earring display, BUT! she’s a photo-hog. She sneers at me “go ahead! Try to replace my gentle curve, with the matte surface that reflects light so well, and keeps the pearls in line! You will not succeed. If you were...

Thank you, thank you, but.....There’s more! It was a pent-up, blue baroque akoya spree. Kid you not. Don’t let these longings build up. On the other hand, the cash cache has to build up, so 6 of 1, half dozen of the other. Back to Coooold in Pittsburgh

    My pearls

Ok! I sort of approximated the Spanish girl, but by myself, so it’s only an approximation. 1) French braid to base of skull, rubber band, pony tail left. 2) 18” Tahitian, ball clasp 3) clasp necklace around neck 4) knot long narrow scarf over the clasp 5) haul the necklace and scarf above the...
