Default Thread advice on 48" of 11mm pearls

Ok..before I get started on these and come to grief I thought I'd better consult the gurus! I've never made a long necklace of large pearls before and I have two concerns. First of all what test Powerpro would you suggest. Having returned from the States I have stocked up and have everything from 10 -100lb in white lol . I'd thought to use 50lb and drill out the three pearls on each end .. but is this overkill? Would 30lb do as well.

What do you guys use for heavy pearls like this 48 incher ?

    Thanks mucho

Go by thread thickness...if 30# fits through the holes well and the knots don't slip through, I'm sure that would be strong enough. (Don't forget if you double it, it would take a 60# tug to break it.)

I used 20# moss green on my 11.5" dyed CFWP and it worked fine.

Thanks, I just finished reading the great knotting thread. I do have a question that I think was answered there, but, I usually do not double the thread as I use powerpro 30 on most things..the doubling of the thread with PP is mainly to get more size to the knot ? Is that correct?

I double it so as to seat the knot firmly by pulling the two threads apart. I find I can't make as tight knots when using only one thread. That is, I am more likely to leave an undesirable gap when using one thread.
