Default Good to have P-G back!!

Wonder if it was down for maintenance or was there some hacking activity???? Hope not!! Could not access it for more than 24 hours...which is an extremely rare occurence as far as my knowledge goes...

But it sure is good to have it back. Thanks to all who have been able to bring it online again.

I wondered about that, too. It was strange seeing a blank page-- but no warning from Safari.

It was a hack, unfortunately. I googled Pearl-Guide and there was a a message the site had been compromised, so the guys took it down while they fixed it.

Clearly, around the world there was suffering from P-G withdrawal!!

I did get the warning in Google Chrome. It said the website had been compromised. This was confirmed on Facebook. Glad it was fixed. Ya know, if you are smart enough to do something like hack a website, you should be able to use your intelligence to do some GOOD in the world instead!

Oh, it was hugely anxiety provoking!

I watched a Program on TED (a worldwide forum for research presentations and Think Tank, for lack of better phrase) called Hire the Hackers. I recommend it highly, to everyone who wants a quick glimpse into the minds of Hackers.

It was funny, entertaining and insightful. Asberger's Syndrome is a big factor in why they are on the fringes and can't seem to get in touch with people and places where they can be forces for good.

Another huge factor is social disintegration, growing up in countries where it's Dog Eat Dog, where literally survival is dodgy but there's computer access.

I'm Not saying that hacking is ok, just relaying info.

Really, I can't recommend the program highly enough! TED is easy to sign on with, and free. Now back to Pearls!!!

Yes, PG was the target of a hacker or group of hackers once again. The latest one was so sophisticated, Kevin had to bring on a group of security experts to comb the code and figure a way to lock down every known loophole. In the process, we also updated the software, so you will see some slight changes to the way the site works.

Thankfully we caught this latest attack right away and were able to shut down the forum in order to get everything fixed.

Good to see PG unharmed and up and running again, and well done to those behind the scene heroes.
