    Interesting, but I don't see how it could be a pearl.

    Snail: Lithopoma undosum, Wavy Turban Snail operculum.

    It appears more like a malformed shell. (which is theoretically a pearl)

    Where was it found? Do you know the species?

    (is a species of sea snail Undosa Megastraea).And was found off the coast of Baja California.

    Operculum did cross my mind after looking at the ridges on the flat side.

    The conchiolin has peeled away, being cast on the beach postmortem.

    Species identified, it's indeed a blister pearl.

    Perhaps Doug will weigh in on this one, it's more his neck of the woods for that snail.
