Thank you, Knotty. Laurenb and I are in Dallas, far from the coast, but still expected to get 3-4" of rain and high wind.

Hopefully, won't lose any power, though.

    We appreciate the kind thoughts.

Thank you. We are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, too, but our house has flooded once before, so it's worrisome. My pearls are well out of harm's way, though :-), and we have flood insurance now, so all will be well, I hope.

Hope it doesn't do too much damage in your area. It didn't affect us too much as we are on high ground, but still a hurricane is a hurricane. Wish you all the best.

Goodness, that's a LOT of rain! Here in San Diego, we hardly get 1/8" rains. We'll be thinking of you. Actually, I'll be flying to Chicago tomorrow, so I hope the weather moderates all the way around.

    Hunker Down,

This was the scene outside Pearlescence Towers a couple of days ago when there was a sudden deluge and the drains overloaded. Gone in an hour and no damage but it looks dramatic

I hope the people of Galveston have evacuated as ordered.

I read Isaac's Storm a few years ago and found it utterly riveting in its tragic details. Between 6,000 and 8,000 died in that storm. And it was so preventable, but at that time the head of the National Weather Service in Washington, D.C. wasn't accepting warnings from the Cuban experts, who knew the danger that storm presented.

Meteorologist Isaac Cline lost his wife and unborn child in that storm.

About the 1900 hurricane called Isaac's Storm:

Lots of Galvestonians in town. Tomorrow will be interesting, but thank goodness that's going to be all we have to deal with.

Thinking of You All in that area; reports tonight sound like the storm will be just as nasty as predicted.

It's hard to know what to say. I'll keep you all in my prayers. Also, will pray for the rest of Galveston and the coast. What a nightmare!

I can't think of words of encouragement. Glad you made it through and can read my words. Means you're alive and well. All else just takes time and patience. We are still praying for you.
