Yes, they lose the milk spot eventually but not necessarily before they are old enough to be weaned. The one we saw last year still had his white forehead spot when I saw him after his ears were fully upright: https://www.pearl-guide.com/forum/sh...l=1#post194235

It's dusk here now and I'm keeping an eye out for his mom.

How sweet; I hope his momma finds him tonight. You are his angel, Pearl Dreams.

I didn't see the mom at dusk, but he was over near the corner of the house, out of my line of sight but not too far from the nest location. This exploring is normal for young rabbits, and their mothers find them to nurse-- they call to the babies. The last baby rabbit did fine. I think this one will be okay.

Adorable bunny, glad for a so safe nest in your yard, PD. (Remembering my son's house bunny, Stephanie, a friendly Dutch Miniature, and her antics!

I doubt I will be able to do better than this blurry photo, but we have our first hummingbird ever! I'm ridiculously excited. I think it's a Ruby Throated Hummingbird.
Now I wish we'd put up a feeder years ago.

How fun to see your pet pics, Lady Violet! Both are cuties! I've planted lots of bright impatiens as they draw they hummingbirds, so fun to watch.

Katbran, the oddest thing happened yesterday. My D has been home since she graduated from college 4 weeks ago, and had yet to see a single hummingbird at our feeder. I myself had only seen one of them in the past month, but that was last week.

Yesterday she and I were standing in the kitchen looking out at the back yard. She had called me over to see 3 red squirrels running around. We have only ever had the larger gray squirrels until this year, and she'd only seen the red ones a couple of times.

I looked out the side window at the hummingbird feeder and said, "Now if only you could see a hummingbird!"

No sooner had I said that when a hummingbird appeared at the feeder. I whooped in surprise and she looked over and saw it-- finally! She said it looked like a fish! And I can see why...they are long and lean, and the wings move so fast they are invisible.
