Pearl will be hurt in my experiments...do you remember the one about "Cleopatra's Dinner"? I still love that one...I learned so much about pearls with that one. I would love to repeat it with white wine...white pearls go better with a nice blanc: at least if you want to film the effect!

I am planning to cut these in half and examining thier innards...
Been feeling like a "Magician" of sorts lately

Then these...look at these pretties!
These are 2 natural pearls that have been cut in half to reveal their inside structure, and then I have a Cortez Keshi...notice how DIFFERENT their inner structure is! I mean, you can easily distinguish between a keshi and a natural pearl using an Xray! Just noticing the inner structure.

Very nice! That first pearl looks like the face of an elephant with I it’s trunk upwards! They say, that when the trunk is on this direction, it’s a sign of prosperity, and luck! And the second one looks like the sun!

Zoiks! I won't be able to use the Fireball as a test subject now! Actually, I just gave it a name after you said all those nice things about it! I call it "Gane****a" now

I still see the other one as one of those "ninja stars", and I really want to SEE the nucleus! (I'm pretty sure it looks like...guess it!).

Look at these...after years of slicing pearls in half to analyze their nacre thickness, I had to see for myself or "in the Nacre" (as Josh likes to say) the thickness of all the pearls that fall in my hands. I fortunately found a very blemished Golden SSP to cut in half...fantastic nacre thickness. Really impressive.

I have an Aussie SSP, but it was costlier and its very clean, so this is the one variety of pearl I have never cut in half.

And I think it says a lot for the creatures comfort - look how clean the innards are! It’s lke a posh spa as opposed to a sad backstreet ‘stew’!
(nothing meant against Natural pearls...I just picture the creature hoisting up a dirty girdle as opposed to French lingerie. What they all deserve is Love, my imagery is inadequate)

Very interesting photos CortezPearls. I have some early ugly pearls that needs examining. Just have to get not-husbands help splitting them apart, I have no patience and would likely cut myself. I did manage to stab myself in a finger with a reamer not that long ago.
