    Default Hurricane Dorian

Well, I'm dead center for Hurricane Dorian. At least my office sent us home early and is letting us work from home as long as we can. Years ago, they wouldn't let us go home until the last minute. Now with laptops and the Internet, we can work from anywhere, so management were really good about letting us go home early and get our homes in order. They even told us to not come back into the office next week and just stay home, but work if we can. It feels a bit surreal. My husband has been running around shopping for last minute stuff. He says the roads and stores are crazy. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that part.

Anyway, it's possible I will be offline for a while. I'll check back in as soon as I can. I'm in central Florida, and that's where everyone usually evaculates TO, because the storms usually have lessened by the time they get to my location. So fingers crossed!

P.S. My latest pearl looks like this. It just arrived this week.

It's a very modern spinning wheel. It's name is Bullfrog. The maker named it. Spinning keeps me calm, so I'll be doing a lot of that during the storm.

I hope that you and your husband stays safe and unharmed and that the hurricane do pass quickly and with minimal damage. I usually calm my nerves with sewing or reknotting pearls, your new spinningen wheel will do just that. Let us hear from you when you can to let us know that you are safe. Of course I do hope that the rest of Florida stays safe as well.

I was wondering how you were doing, BWeaves. So you think you won't need to evacuate?

Be safe BWeaves! I’m a bit north of Miami, and my son is in college in Central Florida... praying that this monster hurricane heads out to sea and looses strength!

I'm packing a bag with insurance forms and pearls, to grab if I need to run out the door at the last minute.

Luckily pearls are rather easy to transport.

Worried for you, BWeaves, along with everyone in Dorian's changing paths ... Stay safe please! We often get flooding and torrential rains up in PA from hurricanes. We're currently with our camper and little boat in Maryland, which looked to be well out of any effects, now not so sure. Boat should be safe, being high, dry and ... broken ... so it takes it's chances. My little silver house just rolls with us out of harm's way.
