Ripples or Kasumi-like - same name. We used to use Kasumi-like years ago, but felt "ripples" was a better more descriptive term.

Ripples in the softer pastel tones tend to show amazing in certain light, but meh to muddy in other light. The more saturated colors tend to show better across a range of conditions.

The ones posted above seem to have a great color. Both pics above have been altered to exaggerate the color though, that I can say with 100% certainty. If those are the exact strands, I think you'll still be happy with them though.

The only problem with with ordering from China is receiving the item you were shown the picture. But I think others have dealt with Kong's pearls with good results?

    Kevin,
Thank you for your input about the picture, your expertise is always appreciated. I think I shall hold off for now, the strand I posted are from a different vendor I've never bought before, so I am reluctant.

Thank you! These are from same seller that Abi asked about. I would say that they are pretty close to the light box photo. Depending on the lighting sometimes the cool purples show and sometimes the warm copper or bronze shows.

Oh, these colors are amazing! I don't own any kasumi like pearl necklaces but you all are making me want some (notice I didn't say one???)!

My experience with Kongs pearls has been mixed, but mostly positive. I have purchased white freshwater (non nucleated) metallic strand, which is very nice. I have purchased a tahitian strand which looks good when worn and nice wearable (on the smaller side) size, but the colors were hugely saturated in the vendor pics. Other than that, i had a purple strand from Kongs (again colors were enhanced in the pictures) which i took apart and made into 3 bracelets for myself and colleagues. My experience is her freshwater pearls are good (although need to keep expectations lower as compared to site pictures).

Bailey your strand is to die for!

Bailey, that strand is amazing! Reconsidering my decision not to purchase from that vendor now. I wonder why s/he dials the colours up so high for the photos when the pearls already look phenomenal irl.

Hey userangl, I enjoyed your posts on your akoya and tahitian necklaces! You've got good taste, and I can tell you've been bitten by the "pearl bug" Just curious, have you received this strand of ripples yet? I'm a big fan of KongsPearl, and had THIS exact strand saved as a favorite. I'm dying to see what it looks like in real life
