Those boxes are so nice Jeg. I would have loved those as a child. I loved looking at my grandmothers cabinet, in this she had her good china (it's now my good china, it belonged to my grandfathers mother), glasses and fun little pieces, like salt and peppershakers in the shape of shoes made of glass. In there she also kept her jewelry, in small boxes (she didn't need a ginormous jewelry box...). I especially loved a silver charmbracelet. Then they had a brake-in and someone stole that bracelet. She got a new one, but it was'nt the same as she replaced all charms at once. The previous she collected to for years. I have the new one but it just isn't special like the old one.

This is a very special treasure box. My grandfather carved and painted these birds when he was interned in the relocation camps. He let me choose these from their attic when I was a little girl.

Charlotta, I have collected charms for my charm bracelet practically all my life. Santa started the collection with a bracelet and a cat charm that winks when you pull a tassel on its collar. That bracelet is full of childhood memories- activities I participated in, and travels. I will take a photo of it and post it. This is a photo of my travel charm bracelet. I still purchase a charm from every new place I go, but I have to divide it up into different bracelets because they get so full. I think this one needs a pearl...

Thank you Pearl Dreams! I have several odds and ends that my grandfather created- paintings sketches, carvings. He was quite an artist.

Here’s my bracelet that was started when I was around 5.

Jeg, your charm bracelet are loaded with the cutest little trinkets! Must weigh quite a bit! I see the kittie charm!

Your Grandfather's birds are remarkable, priceless. Do others in the family besides you have the creative gene?

jeg, your grandfather's bird carvings are so beautiful. He had such talent. Seeing your charm bracelets inspired me to pull out the one I had in high school. I need to set aside a day for polishing silver.

While your grandfather's bird carvings are gorgeous and true treasures, my heart breaks that he was in an internment camp. NEVER AGAIN!
