Thank you everyone!

My whole family is excited about pearls now. Yesterday, my Mum tried on the strand I got awhile back that the seller thought was faux (the poor pearls were real they had just been poorly stored and not well cared for- but once bathed perked right up!) and she was admiring it and asking my father how it looked before I realized, "Oh, mum wants her own strand!". Lol - I was so happy to give them to her.

I have a beautiful strand, my neice has one, my son his bracelet, and my mum even has her own necklace (amazingly she's never had any except for a tiny pair of earrings she was gifted when she got married). Everyone was so happy celebrating Family Day and talking about our newfound love of pearls, comparing each of our strands, all the different types (well to be honest, I did most of the talking and my family kept asking questions- they had no idea there were so many different kinds, cultured & wild). :-)

What a whirlwind of experiences! How delightful to receive such wonderful (and beautiful) gifts from a "pearl angel"!

All the bargain akoyas I found were very grubby, to the point where they looked fake, and were priced low as a result.
