    Default Pearl-Guide Book Club

    SunSeeker-

Thought I'd create a new thread so I would't take the other one off topic. Here are pics of the two books

Hollywood Jewels- Penny Proddow/Debra Healy/Marion Fasel

I thought I'd throw in this one too (I picked it up at a Goodwill):

Famous Jewelry Collectors- Stefano Papi & Alexandra Rhodes

No, Midge said, I take it back. I wouldnt get a mink coat the first thing. Know what Id do? Id get a string of pearls. Real pearls. Yes, Annabel said, slowly. I think thats a kind of a good idea. And it would make sense, too. Because you can wear pearls with anything.

That is where I find some the best books, I found two really fun books of Victorian homes and another of English and Irish Castles open to the public, while hunting for gem books.

I was tempted to share a pic of the book I thought Bweaves would like. I mentioned it in another thread "Cecil Beaton" (its not about gems or jewelry but there are lots of royal jewels images), but I did not want to change the topic of the thread.

SHARE!!!! Royal jewels count, even if it is a book about a photographer.

Famous Jewelry Collectors- Stefano Papi & Alexandra Rhodes. I've been trying to find that book for ages. Is it any good?

BWeaves there are used copies on Amazon; lowest priced is about $20 with shipping.
The photos are nice. It's worth that much, anyway.

BW I agree PD it is worth it, but I'm not all objective about these things....any books with gems/jewelry I'd probably want it. Heck I used to collect old Auction Catalogues just for the images (though space wise that got old really fast).

I'll get a pic of the book up later tonight (but tomorrow for you).

I saw something similar to this about 20 years ago - one of the first times the Romanov collection was allowed in to the US. It was absolutely amazing, one of the best collection shows I've ever seen. The pieces were stunning, just stunning. My dad and sis had to drag me out of there after 5 hours.

Just had an after thought...wish I could change the thread title. Maybe a repository of all different sorts of books people are reading.
A P-G book club of sorts : ) Not sure how popular or active it would be, but its bound to be interesting to see what others are reading that is not pearl or jewelry related.

We can change the title. What do you want the title to be? Exact words.
