Yes Eric! I saw the same thing as Anti. (one buyer getting multiple items for 7 cents). Scammers!
This seems like such an easily spottable scam - a simple algorithm would flag this seller in a nanosecond. One has to believe eBay is fully aware and is complicit in allowing their customers to be defrauded. The number of fraudulent auctions and scam-artist sellers just in the pearl category must be in thousands.

SO MANY PEARLS, SO LITTLE TIME----
Maybe the proper tactic here would be to report this fraudulent activity to the FTC? Clearly eBay isn't self policing...so maybe the answer is to file a complaint against eBay rather than the individuals within the marketplace.

JP, I would totally support this, any idea how to go about implementing?

SO MANY PEARLS, SO LITTLE TIME----
This seller is selling Tahitian pearl necklaces for thousands of dollars. When looking on the Intranet it looks like he provides nuclei for cultured pearls and his methods can speed up the process of growing a cultured pearl form 18 months to 4 months?

That's not a good feedback rating. Did he ever sell any necklaces? Where does he explain how he can grow the pearl in that short of time? Or does he just say that?

And this, Pattye ... note the location ... "I developed new technology to grow pearls in any shape with very high detail, I culture all pearls in Tahiti in the Motu Ahe Lagoon." ?

Cathy, yes, I did note the location. I'll ask Celeste about it when I see her next. Josh is at the farm, but internet there is very poor, so difficult to make contact.

"Ebay knows there are tons of fakes on their site but they don't get involved because all they care about is their bottom line."
I have to defend ebay here. Of course they care about their bottom line; they are a business. And we cannot expect them to police all of the millions of objects that go through there. It would require hiring hundreds of experts in every field. Except for the Tiffany and a few other luxury goods brands, where they had to avoid lawsuits and probably did hire extra staff to handle problems with these particular goods, ebay is a flea market business model. Caveat emptor.
Pattye, yes, I'd love to hear Celeste and/or Josh's take on that post. What with both their travels right now, I would't expect any input for quite some time. Meanwhile, "Caveat Emptor" people ...
